Former Lamar coach Scott Bailey to join Webb City football coaching staff

Webb City is adding another hall-of-fame-worthy coach to its staff.

Former Lamar coach Scott Bailey is joining the Webb City staff as a defensive line coach, Webb City head coach John Roderique told the News-Leader on Tuesday.

Bailey is returning to southwest Missouri after spending five months as the head coach at Jefferson City. He resigned after one season, citing personal reasons.

Most notably, Bailey was the head coach of Lamar when it won seven consecutive state championships from 2011-17. The stretch also included a 57-game winning streak that was the longest in the nation at the time it was snapped.
