John Dickey felt a little slighted when he was reading the sports section this summer.
A July article in the News-Leader said Saturday's game will be the first matchup between Missouri State and Mizzou football teams since 1923.
"I thought, that's not quite right," Dickey said. "Although, being a lawyer, I could argue the point."
Dickey, 89, has a long list of accomplishments that includes a Rhodes Scholarship and a law degree from Harvard. But one of his early achievements was quarterbacking Missouri's B team to a 7-6 win over Missouri State's A team on Thanksgiving 1945 at what is now Plaster Stadium.
