Former Ozark basketball star Chandler Lyon’s career took a turn toward home.

As a senior in high school, Lyon scored an average of 15.7 points per game. Lyon made 54.7 percent of his field goal attempts and 80 percent of his free throw attempts. He set off to Liberty and NCAA Division II William Jewell College.

At 6-foot-4, Lyon primarily played power forward at Ozark and usually stayed close to the basket in the paint. He learned to play on the perimeter as a college freshman.

“I’ve really extended my game to the three-point line, because at William Jewell I had to learn how to shoot over those tall kids,” Lyon said.
