Jake Burger is used to being in a home run battle after going back and forth with teammate Spencer Johnson a season ago.
Johnson went on a tear in the Missouri Valley tournament to edge Burger 24-21 at season’s end.
Saturday afternoon, sophomore shortstop Jeremy Eierman hit two balls over the fence during Missouri State’s 13-3 win over Bradley to tie Burger for the team-lead.
Burger wasn’t having it.
The junior third baseman knocked his 11th home run of the season over the fence in the sixth inning to retake the team’s home run lead, 11-10.
