Conservation agents are looking for information after an eagle found with gunshot wounds this past week had to be euthanized.

Washington County Conservation Agent Jaymes Hall was contacted by the U.S. Forest Service Office in Potosi on Feb. 5. He was told there was an injured bald eagle at the intersection of Highway C and Z, according to a social media post from Missouri Department of Conservation.

Hall found the injured raptor and took him to the World Bird Sanctuary. The care team found two gunshot wounds that went through a joint where the wing connects to the torso.
