Drury hero hired as assistant coach

In 2015, Ben Fisher scored 19 points to lead the Drury Panthers to a GLVC championship.

In 2017, he hopes to coach them to that same position.

Drury University men’s basketball head coach Steve Hesser named former Panthers guard Ben Fisher as an assistant coach on Thursday.

"Ben worked very hard as a player and played an important role on some of the most successful teams we've ever had," Hesser said in a press release. "I'm pleased he decided to pursue a career in coaching and excited he is starting that journey with us."

Fisher has spent the last two years as Drury’s director of intramurals as he completed a Master’s in Education degree.
