Despite No. 9 seed, Mizzou grateful for NCAA Tournament opportunity

Before Missouri took to the floor on Feb. 13 for a home game against Arkansas, the NCAA Tournament's selection committee revealed its top 16 teams at the time.

It was 29 days from Selection Sunday and the Tigers were a No. 4 seed and the No. 16 team overall.

Since that declaration, MU went 3-5 and was selected as a No. 9 seed during Sunday's formal bracket reveal, set to play No. 8-seed Oklahoma on Saturday night in Indianapolis.

The Tigers were also revealed to be the No. 33 overall team, the strongest ranking of any team in the field that's not seeded to win a first-round matchup.
