Dallas Baptist stuns Bears with 12-inning victory

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A grueling test of survival for Missouri State’s baseball team ended in shock and disappointment late Saturday night.

The Bears’ streak of three victories in three elimination games was snapped by Dallas Baptist in the championship game of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, in a 4-3 loss in 12 innings.

Dallas Baptist won it when a pitch from Ryan Dunne into the dirt eluded Missouri State catcher Eduardo Castro, and Trooper Reynolds raced home for the winning run.

It ended Missouri State’s season, its quest to repeat as league champions and return to the NCAA Tournament.
