Sixth grader Bridget McGee wasn't sure she wanted to go out in the deer stand with her dad earlier this month.
"I work a lot of hours, but we got in quite a few bow hunts with her crossbow, but nothing ever got in range," said her father, Larry McGee. "We would get to our spot we chose based on wind direction and we would arrive in the dark and leave in the dark. A long hard hunt."
Those hard hunts left Bridget, from St. Francis County, none too keen on going back out during the opening day of youth firearm season, so her dad went on his own and got an eight-point buck with his crossbow in the stand they constructed together.
