A group of teenage girls from Crane tightened their stranglehold on Missouri basketball with a history-making win.
Crane won its fourth consecutive state championship in Class 2 girls basketball with a 78-57 win over Neelyville on Saturday afternoon at Mizzou Arena. Crane becomes just the fifth team to pull off a four-peat since the Missouri State High School Activities Association began sanctioning girls basketball championships in 1973.
A class of six seniors will graduate with a record of 123-7 in four years.
Drury signee Lexie Vaught had a double-double by halftime of the championship game with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
