Coronavirus leads to Missouri State canceling its spring football game

Fans hoping to get their first look at a Bobby Petrino-coached Missouri State football team are going to have to wait.

Missouri State won't play its spring football game that was planned for April 18, MSU President Clif Smart told the News-Leader in a phone interview on Monday.

Football practice was originally supposed to begin March 25. According to Smart, regular practices are off and the university is still evaluating what will be permissible for teams from a compliance and safety standpoint.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference has yet to make an announcement regarding team activities.
