Chiefs cruise past error-prone Broncos 29-19, pad AFC West lead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On a Monday night when their game wound up being a footnote thanks to the San Francisco 49ers' trade for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla’s ruling that reinstated Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension, the Kansas City Chiefs snapped a two-game losing streak and padded their AFC West lead.

Kansas City’s defense enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in a 29-19 defeat of the division rival Denver Broncos but still wasn’t perfect. After surrendering 944 yards over the previous two weeks, the 346 yards gained by Denver didn’t seem so bad.
