The St. Louis Cardinals announced Monday that outfielder Stephen Piscotty will be in Springfield this week for a rehab assignment with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals.
A news release from the Cardinals does not say how long Piscotty will be in Springfield.
The Double-A Cardinals begin an eight-game homestand Monday night with games against the Tulsa Drillers and Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Piscotty, 26, was placed on the disabled list on May 5 after injuring his hamstring during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Springfield Cardinals host Tulsa on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Hammons Field.
