Buffalo quarterback Jamen Smith voted the Ozarks' high school football player of the year

After more than 100,000 votes were collected, one high school football player stood above the rest.

And he's only a sophomore.

Buffalo quarterback Jamen Smith was voted by readers as the area's high school football player of the year.

Stats through the regular season were taken into consideration as well as nominations from readers across the area in selecting a group of 11 finalists.

Smith, a 5-foot-11 172-pound quarterback, led the Bison to a 7-2 regular season.

During the regular season, he passed for 643 yards while completing 45-of-93 passes. Seven of the completions resulted in touchdowns.
