Back to the Missouri State Bears Newsfeed

Both MSU men and women's basketball makes home debut Wednesday night

A day after Bears head coach Paul Lusk's birthday, he's hoping the team can get him a win.

"That's a nice present at anytime," Lusk said.

Missouri State (1-0) is coming off a season-opening win Friday night at Western Kentucky.

The Bears will take on Southern University (0-1), who's coming off a 102-55 loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini, Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Lusk said star senior forward Alize Johnson is doing great after playing in his first action since injuring his knee, which sat him out for the entirety of the preseason.

Foul trouble limited Johnson to 14 minutes in his return, but Lusk wasn't complaining.
