Joel Brown took a loss in his first game as a basketball head coach.
Bolivar beat Hillcrest 77-45 in an early season clash of 2015 Class 4 final four teams. In Brown’s defense, 14-year coaching veteran Robby Hoegh returns all five starters from a team that placed fourth in the state playoffs last March.
“I told Robby at the end of the game, I said, ‘well, this one stings. I’m going to remember this forever; thanks a lot,’” Brown quipped. “It’s something I can always look back at now and just remember what we’ve got to do to build off it.
