Kickapoo’s Bella Fontleroy will be remembered as one of the best to come through Springfield.
This season’s Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year, a McDonald’s All-American nominee, a five-star recruit and the winner of numerous all-state awards, is now a state runner-up.
Her stellar time at Kickapoo came to an end Friday afternoon in the Class 6 championship game, a 57-43 loss to Incarnate Word Academy.
“Gatorade Girl,” as her teammates call her, was an integral part of a Kickapoo team that has won four straight district championships.
