After a 1-10 finish in his first season as Missouri State’s football team, head coach Dave Steckel did a full accounting of what he liked and didn’t like from the 2015 Bears.
He said he liked the effort shown by the players but couldn’t find much else to point to as a positive.
As for the negatives, he had a lengthy list.
At the top was the team’s toughness.
That’s where he’s focusing as Missouri State opened spring practice this week.
“We’re going to do a lot of toughness drills,” Steckel said on a windy day at Plaster Stadium on Wednesday.
