In Sunday afternoon’s series finale against Indiana State, the Missouri State Bears (36-14, 17-0) didn’t score 14 or 15 runs and yet, they looked dominant in every other way.
There wasn’t a parade of doubles, home runs, stolen bases or runs. Yet, the end result remained the same.
“We manufactured runs today and we played great defense,” junior third baseman Jake Burger said. “That’s what Missouri State has been built on — pitching and defense — so whenever our bats are working, it’s nice but we go back to our foundation when things aren’t going so well.
