Bears hang tough; fall to North Dakota 34-0 on the road

There were no fireworks, offensive explosions or record-setting performances during the Missouri State Bears 34-0 loss to the 11th ranked North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

Just one week after scoring 35 points in the first half against Mizzou, Missouri State (0-2) failed to find their way onto the scoreboard against a formidable North Dakota (1-1) defense, which collected its first shutout since the 2013 season.

After getting off to a slow start in Week 1, the Bears’ defense improved tenfold in the first quarter against the Fighting Hawks, allowing just three points.

Limiting big plays, MSU took the lifestyle of “bend, but don’t break” to heart.
