It appeared that it was going to be the same old Valley story for a Missouri State team coached by Dave Steckel just 18 seconds into the game.
The opening kick was returned by Indiana State to Missouri State’s 38-yard line. The next play, Isaac Harker hit Miles Thompson for a 38-yard touchdown.

Wrong. This time, it was different.
The Bears responded and they continued to respond to punches throughout the game as they to 3-1 (1-0) on the season thanks to a second half rout in a 45-24 win over Indiana State.
