Bears defeat Loyola, move into three-way tie for first place

The Missouri State men’s basketball team defeated the Loyola Ramblers 65-61. The win put the Bears into a tie for first place in the Missouri Valley Conference.

"That was a great win because it was our next game,” head coach Dana Ford told the News-Leader after the game. “They handled everything Loyola threw at them. Those guys are champions; they won our league, they went to the Final Four. Our guys responded at every time.”

The first half was a tight race to the buzzer. Missouri State took a 10-4 lead early, shooting 100 percent from the field until senior Ryan Kreklow missed a layup with 13:27 left in the half.
