Arch Madness: After historically crazy day, Missouri State has a legit shot at the title

ST. LOUIS — Arch Madness had a day unlike any other on Friday and it has Missouri State looking like a team that can win the whole thing.

First, Drake became the first team to ever upset the No. 1 seed in the 30 years of the tournament with its 77-56 win over Northern Iowa to begin the quarterfinals. That upset knocked out the overwhelming favorite entering the tournament.

Next, seventh-seed Valparaiso overcame an 18-point second-half deficit to come back and send the game to overtime with No. 2-seed Loyola-Chicago. In the final seconds, Eron Gordon got a layup to fall to give the Crusaders a 74-73 edge to send Loyola home.
