After scaring Oklahoma State, Missouri State football thinks it's an FCS title contender

STILLWATER, Okla. — When Missouri State football hired Bobby Petrino as its head coach over a year and a half ago, Tyler Wiltz admitted players on the team were cautiously optimistic.

The players heard what the coaches preached and they wanted to trust them.

Since then, Missouri State has pulled off historical feat after historical feat. A spring football season saw the Bears win a share of the Missouri Valley Football and make their first FCS Playoff appearance since 1990.

After Missouri State's near-upset in a 23-16 loss to FBS No. 22 Oklahoma State on Saturday evening in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the Bears have 100 percent trust in their coaches and they believe they are capable of making even more history this season.
