After coming up short in championship, Nixa is nothing but proud of what it accomplished

It was a group that never doubted itself. Even before practices started in November, the Nixa Eagles knew they could compete for a state title.

With head coach Jay Osborne set to retire after 30 years on the Eagles' sideline along with one of the best rosters in the state, it was Nixa's time.

While it did not end the way the Eagles planned, with a 68-51 loss to Christian Brothers in the Class 6 championship game, Nixa had a great set of players and a great coach to thank for the ride.
