It would be difficult to say that it was anything but a good weekend for the Nixa basketball squad.
The Eagles finished in fifth at the Tournament of Champions and beat two of the better local squads in Parkview and Springfield Catholic while doing it.
But head coach Jay Osborne wants to have his team be great before the Eagles head to the playoffs.
The Eagles almost advanced to the semifinals of the winners’ bracket on night one, but a buzzer-beating shot by Milton’s (Atlanta) Bruce Thornton sent them to the consolation bracket.
