A veteran Willard High School basketball squad is ready to make noise this season

Special to the News-Leader

WILLARD — After a pair of losing seasons to start their varsity basketball careers, Willard’s senior class is ready to take the next step and compete for titles.

“We posed the question to the seniors of how bad they want to succeed in their final year,” Willard head coach Jeremy Dresslaer said. “I think tonight was a huge step in the right direction for our program.”

The huge step came with a 61-56 win over Greenwood in the semi-final of the Willard Basketball Classic, pushing Willard’s record to 3-0 and advancing the Tigers to the championship game on Saturday night.
