Trips to the state quarterfinals are on the line when district championships of the high school football playoffs kick off across the state Friday night.
A number of match-ups will put some of the best teams in the area up against each another.

Thayer @ Miller
Thayer earned one of the best wins of the Class 1 state tournament with its dominating 42-7 victory over then-undefeated Pierce City.
Pierce City had been dominating teams all season long and, before its loss to Thayer, hadn't allowed more than 16 points all season.
