AMES, Iowa — When Danielle Gitzen woke up Monday morning, she had a feeling that night was going to be pretty sweet.
The team's lone senior — who has been called the Lady Bears' "fearless leader" throughout the season — had the confidence that led MSU to the NCAA Tournament's Round of 32.
"When I woke up, I had confidence," Gitzen said. "Yeah, we're the No. 11 seed and 'oh, we're not supposed to be here,' but at the end of the day, we all believed in ourselves and we wanted to go out and play basketball and show everybody what Lady Bear basketball was all about.
