WASHINGTON — Ben Simmons may be an NBA rookie on paper, but he sure didn't look it during his pro hoops debut at Capital One Arena on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old, who was sidelined for all of the 2016-17 season after a broken foot in training camp derailed his would-have-been rookie campaign, looked every bit like the player the Philadelphia 76ers expected him to be when they drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick two summers ago.
"I mean, how about Ben Simmons' first game in the NBA?" Sixers coach Brett Brown said after his team fell to the Washington Wizards, 120-115.
