Through six weeks of the regular season, players have emerged as the best in the region.
We've been all over southwest Missouri and have seen the great performances by those across the area. There are some athletes who consistently put up big numbers and lead their teams to victory week after week.
In the last few seasons, the News-Leader has run a poll for fans to vote on who they think the high school player of the year should be. We will do that again following the 2020 season.
