2 Georgia players scheduled to play in Bass Pro Tournament of Champions arrested for murder

Police say two high school basketball players from Milton, Georgia, were arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of murder.

The two players were scheduled to play for Milton High School during the 2022 Bass Pro Tournament of Champions that will take place at JQH Arena in January.

Cameron Walker, 17, and Jonathan Murray, 18, were taken into custody after their season-opening basketball game on Wednesday, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. The arrests followed a month-long investigation into an Oct. 14 homicide.

The two have been arrested in the robbery and killing of Connor Mediate, a 24-year-old recent graduate of Kennesaw State University, according to a news release made by the department.
