Your move, Mississippi State: Minor league baseball team plans America’s largest cowbell

This might not go over well in Starkville: There’s another sports team out there trying to stake its claim as the nation’s cowbell capital.

The Visalia Rawhide, a Class A baseball affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, says it’s planning to construct what it claims to be “America’s largest cowbell” at its stadium, Recreation Park in Visalia, Calif., which is near Fresno.

Just how large is that bell? In a release, Rawhide club president Tom Seidler said the cowbell would be five feet tall, designed as a tribute to the area’s dairy and agriculture industry.

The Rawhide has even gone so far as to declare 2018 the “Year of the Cowbell.
