Former Wheeler and Mississippi State standout Brandon Woodruff is back in his native state.
The 23-year old right-handed pitcher was promoted to Biloxi on Tuesday, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, and is scheduled to make his first start for the Shuckers tonight at the Tennessee Smokies.
Woodruff had made eight previous starts this spring in High-A for the Brevard County Manatees going 4-1 with a 1.83 ERA, 49 strikeouts and 10 walks in 44 1/3 innings of work.
Woodruff is in his third minor league season after being drafted by the Brewers in the 11th round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
