Coach Dan Mullen and Mississippi State should have one of the SEC’s – and maybe the nation’s – best quarterbacks next season in Nick Fitzgerald, who capped off a strong sophomore campaign by helping the Bulldogs beat Miami (Ohio) in the St. Petersburg Bowl.
Mullen and his staff also appear to be stabilizing the quarterback position for the future, as four-star quarterback Keytaon Thompson – the Gatorade player of the year in Louisiana – is scheduled to enroll at Mississippi State next month. Thompson, from New Orleans Landry-Walker, also took part in some Bulldogs bowl practices.
