Why K.J. Costello will be the SEC’s best quarterback in 2020

In the nation’s best conference, boasting top-tier defenses, Costello’s pocket presence, and rocket arm fit the bill in a Leach lead air raid offense.

At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Costello is a pure pocket passer. Most notably, with the requisite weapons at his disposal, running back Kylin Hill and wideouts Osirus Mitchell and JaVonta Payton, Costello is in position to be the primary face of SEC quarterbacks.

While at Stanford, Costello posted is best numbers as a sophomore. In 2018, he threw for 3,540 yards and 29 touchdowns. But he did throw 11 interceptions. Though his 2019 was cut short due to injury, Costello passed for 1,038 yards and six touchdowns, limiting his interceptions to three.
