After the disappointing loss to Texas A&M two plus weeks ago, most MSU fans looked at the three game home stand in October as an opportunity to improve and hopefully improve as a team. Each game of the home stand was progressively harder, Troy, then Louisiana Tech; leading up to a huge SEC match up with Kentucky Saturday night.
The Bulldogs fell behind early to the La Tech version of the Bullies, but recovered late in the first quarter and took control of the game in the second half en route to a 45-20 homecoming win and a 5-2 record.
