Three Mississippi State players were picked as finalists for the C Spire Howell and Gillom Trophies on Monday.
Senior Gavin Ware and freshman Quinndary Weatherspoon were selected as finalists for the Howell Trophy, which is awarded to Mississippi’s top men’s basketball player while sophomore Victoria Vivians is up for the Gillom Trophy, an award she claimed last year as the state’s best women’s basketball player.
Ware, a 6-foot-9 forward, leads the Bulldogs with 15.6 points and 7.5 rebounds. The Starkville native also tops the SEC shooting 61.9 percent from the field.
