You’ve gotta appreciate the Ole Miss basketball fan. They’ve been putting up with poor basketball and a leaky Tad Pad for years. All of the sudden Andy KenNIT turned the program into a SEC contender, winning the conference tournament and making a pair of NCAA Tourneys. In the same stretch, in-state rival Mississippi State went down the tubes after firing the the man (Rick Stansbury) they could never figure out (8-21 against in 14 seasons).
Things were going just fine in Oxford. A full three years as the unquestioned top program in the state of Mississippi. So why not build a new arena to house this budding program?
