GAINESVILLE, Fla., – No. 5 Mississippi State raced out to a 9-0 lead on top-ranked Florida in the first three innings and held on for a 10-4 victory on Saturday.
The Bulldogs evened the series and snapped the Gators’ 29-game home winning streak in front of a school record crowd of 6,244.
“We came out and really had some nice, short and efficient swings early in the ball game to get us going,” said MSU coach John Cohen.
MSU (22-9-1, 7-4 SEC) scored four runs in the first inning, two off a double by Reid Humphreys.
