Mississippi State sophomore guard Xavian Stapleton tore the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee on Aug. 17 which kept him off the practice court this past season.
Stapleton had to sit out the 2015-16 season after transferring from Louisiana Tech.
Now the 6-foot-6, 203-pounder from Flora will miss more time after tearing his left ACL again. Stapleton underwent surgery on Wednesday and is hopeful to return by January.
As a freshman, Stapleton played in 36 games at Louisiana Tech averaging 6.7 points and 2.1 rebounds.
