SEC Week 1 recap: Missouri falls, Mississippi State stunned

The first Saturday afternoon of the season was a bad one for the SEC, with both league teams involved in early games losing. But while one loss was expected, the other was a shocker.

Here are the details from SEC Week 1 action.

South Alabama 21, Mississippi State 20

South Alabama, a four-TD underdog, scored three second-half TDs to shock the host Bulldogs. Mississippi State’s Westin Graves clanked a 28-yard field goal attempt off the goal post in the final seconds to seal the verdict. The Bulldogs led 17-0 at halftime, then increased the lead to 20-7 midway through the third quarter.
