SEC Tournament scenarios for State

Mississippi State has backed itself into a corner and is currently the cellar dweller in the race for the Southeastern Conference Tournament entering the final weekend of the regular season.

The Bulldogs sport an 8-19 record in conference play having lost eight of its nine SEC series this spring. MSU is a half-game behind Tennessee and 1.5 games back from Georgia, who currently holds the 12th and final qualifying spot to advance to Hoover.

This Diamond Dogs travel to Tennessee for the final three-game series starting Thursday at 5 p.m. CT.

For State to claim the final spot in the SEC Tournament it would need to sweep the Volunteers and have Georgia lose its home series with Arkansas or take two from Tennessee and have the Razorbacks sweep Georgia.
