While the world is counting down the days until the start of college football season, the start of college basketball actually isn’t far behind. The best part about the start of basketball is the various tournaments, classics, and shootouts that take place over the first month of the season. It’s great for the fans because we get different teams from different conferences match-up way before the madness of March.
One of the most high profile, early season showdowns is the Puerto Rico Shootout. This year, Mississippi State, led by first year head coach Ben Howland, will open the tournament against the Miami Hurricanes, a team that fell just short making the NCAA Tournament last season.
