Veteran Mississippi State broadcaster Jim Ellis joined “Head to Head” on SuperTalk Mississippi earlier this week to look back at his time as the of voice of Bulldogs football and explain his decision in stepping away.
Upon joining the show, it had been announced earlier in the day that he was retiring from his duties as the voice of Mississippi State football.
“I actually began working with the football team in 1979, as a spotter, among other things,” Ellis said. “I’ve been in that box for a long time.”
For Ellis, it was time to focus on family – including his many grandchildren – and his church.
