Mississippi State players may not have to wait long to learn who their new pitching coach will be.
On the same day Butch Thompson departed to take the head coaching job at Auburn, Brian Foley of College Baseball Daily reported late Thursday night that Cal State Fullerton’s Jason Dietrich has accepted the position.
In a statement released by MSU on Thompson’s departure, head coach John Cohen mentioned that he wanted to move quickly to fill the vacancy.
“Our nationwide search for a new pitching coach begins immediately,” Cohen said.
