Reeling Mississippi State gets a surging BYU squad on Friday

Mississippi State is coming off an uninspired effort in a big home loss to Auburn, and now the Bulldogs must travel to BYU — which is coming off a 17-point win at Michigan State — for a Friday night non-conference game.

BYU is 3-3, but the three losses have come by a combined seven points to UCLA, Utah and West Virginia. Mississippi State is 2-3, with wins over UMass and South Carolina.

BYU coach Kalani Sitake expects the Bulldogs to come out motivated when the teams meet Friday night. “They run into a little bit of adversity, which makes them dangerous, and they’re a quality team,” Sitake said.
