Mississippi State’s hopes and dreams for the 2019-20 men’s hoops season received a major boost on Tuesday night when Reggie Perry announced he is withdrawing his name from the NBA Draft and returning to MSU for his sophomore season. So why exactly is the return of Perry that big of a deal? Here are 3 quick thoughts.
1. Perry’s return gives MSU a very strong projected starting five consisting of himself, Nick Weatherspoon, Tyson Carter, Robert Woodard and Abdul Ado. Given the expected production of those five guys, it’d be no surprise at all if the Bulldogs found themselves in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
