SEC football just means more, but when it comes to the richest of the richest in entertainment, there aren’t quite as many as one might think.
Forbes released its annual list of the highest-paid celebrities from around the world for 2017, and just one former SEC player made the top 100.
That one player? Former Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, who is earning $33.4 million this year as part of a massive contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
That’s right — an interior lineman ranks higher on the Forbes list than established former SEC stars such as quarterbacks Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford.
