Mississippi State picked up its second commitment from an offensive lineman last week when Griffin McDowell pledged to the Bulldogs.
“I went to a bunch of colleges this summer and I really liked Mississippi State the most,” McDowell told GN. “I think it will be the best for my future in academics and football. I also just really loved how the coaches worked and how Coach (Dan) Mullen worked.”
McDowell (6 feet 4, 280 pounds), from Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County, chose Mississippi State over offers from Indiana, Kansas and others.
The Bulldogs are getting an offensive lineman with an athletic background that extends beyond the football field.
